Muse Challenge Day 6: Favorite Song from Blackholes and Revelations

it’s gotta be “City of Delusion”.  It’s an adrenaline pumping masterpiece that keeps pushing me further and further toward the edge of my seat until eventually there is no seat left.  The chorus is great but I personally love all the little individual features the most.  Chris gets a little section to show off his awesome bass groove, then they lay a simple and fun guitar part on top of him (I’ve always LOVED that guitar scratching sound that is used in that part, any song that does that immediately sucks me in).  Then when they come back to that part later in the song they have a cool little trumpet solo and being a bit of a ska fan like I am and a former brass player myself, it’s always awesome to hear those instruments featured in a more popular setting.  On top of all of the extremely fun musical parts, the poignant story of someone surrounded by so much corruption that they’d be willing to commit some kind of atrocity in an attempt to open up the world’s eyes makes the song that much more amazing.
